Kumki releases for Deepavali, re-shoot is a roumor

Circles close to director Prabhu Solomon have refuted reports in few sections of the media, which claimed that Kumki would not hit the screens for Deepavali as announced earlier, since some scenes were to be reshot.
Kumki

There was lot of rumours flying around Vikram Prabhu's film debut - 'Kumki' wouldn't be ready for the Deepavali box-office joust. However, it seems they were just speculation and the makers have made it clear that it is on track for a festival release. Even the hero, wrote on his Twitter page that there was no possibility of re-shoots and all that. The producers too seemed taken aback by such talk and confirmed that 'Kumki' will hit theatres for the festival of lights.

'Kumki' is directed by Prabu Solomon and has Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmii Menon in the lead with music by D Imman. The story revolves around a mahut (portrayed by Vikram) and his trained kumki elephant, which are used to guide wild elephants back to the forest to minimise the destruction of property and fields.

The film is being produced by director N Lingusamy on his 'Thirrupathi Brothers' banner and is distributed by Studio Green. Imman's music is said to have made waves already. Sources said that the film is in post-production stage and will be complete as soon as the graphics work is done.

Vijayalakshmi is Veerappan’s wife

The guessing game has come to an end, one has to say. After considering many actresses to play the female lead in 'Vana Yudhdham', a bio-pic on sandalwood smuggler Veerappan, director A M R Ramesh has finally zeroed in on Vijayalakshmi.
The 'Chennai 600028' & 'Anjathey' actress will play the wife of Kishore, who is doing Veerappan's role in this film. "Ramesh selected Vijayalakshmi since she has that perfect Tamil face," sources say.
Earlier, Priyamani was considered for the role, but the actress reportedly rejected the offer due to some 'reasons'. To be made simultaneously in Tamil and Kannada, the Kannada version has been titled 'Attahasa'.

Happy birthday, Hansika Motwani!
Hansika Motwani turns 21
She stood before the camera as a child artist and with every new project sculpted a name for herself even at a very young age. After a small stint with the small-screen, she zoomed out, larger-than-life on to the silver screen as a heroine with 'Mappillai' where she starred opposite Dhanush. Though the film dealt with a hero-centric subject, Hansika Motwani's performance got noticed by film goers as well as the critics.

Hansika Motwani's second release in Tamil was 'Engeyum Kadhal' under Prabhu Deva's direction where this "pretty find" shared screen space with 'Jayam' Ravi. She was only two films old when she dared to try comedy, and guess what, it worked wonders for the young actress who surely is more than just a pretty face.

Hansika Motwani is eagerly waiting for 'Velayudham's release which might happen towards the end of this month. This film sees her portraying Vijay's female lead. And in the pipeline is 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi' with Udhayanidhi Stalin under Rajesh's direction. This film sees Udhayanidhi Stalin. debuting as hero into Tamil, and the flick is touted to be a rom-com.
Though Hansika Motwani has been around for just almost a year now, she has got to play the female lead with the some of the top, young and powerful heroes of the Tamil film industry. If her career continues to shape up as it has done so far, we might have a younger version of Kushboo in the making, who knows?

Kareena Kapoor says Yes!

Kareena Kapoor says Yes!

She told us today, “I have said yes to the film. We are still working out modalities and dates so it will probably be a couple days more before I sign on.”
Heroine is based on the life and times of a superstar heroine from the dream factory we call ‘Bollywood’. The film is a daring, shocking, glamorous, scandalous behind the scenes account of the reality behind the world of glitz and glamour that Hindi film stars inhabit. This is the film Madhur Bhandarkar has been subconsciously preparing for ever since he joined the industry and one which he considers his magnum opus.
We will of course stay on top of this story and bring you all the news!
Be sure to stay tuned because we have much more coming up from Kareena Kapoor. In an exclusive interview with SouthDreamz.com she talks Bodyguard, working with Salman Khan and what she loves about acting. You have to wait until closer to the release of Bodyguard on the 31st, but believe us it is well worth the wait!
