There was lot of rumours flying around Vikram Prabhu's film debut - 'Kumki' wouldn't be ready for the Deepavali box-office joust. However, it seems they were just speculation and the makers have made it clear that it is on track for a festival release. Even the hero, wrote on his Twitter page that there was no possibility of re-shoots and all that. The producers too seemed taken aback by such talk and confirmed that 'Kumki' will hit theatres for the festival of lights.
'Kumki' is directed by Prabu Solomon and has Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmii Menon in the lead with music by D Imman. The story revolves around a mahut (portrayed by Vikram) and his trained kumki elephant, which are used to guide wild elephants back to the forest to minimise the destruction of property and fields.
The film is being produced by director N Lingusamy on his 'Thirrupathi Brothers' banner and is distributed by Studio Green. Imman's music is said to have made waves already. Sources said that the film is in post-production stage and will be complete as soon as the graphics work is done.
